i had the 50 gallon tank for about a year...i used it to cure live rocks in..i bought glass baffles and used the GE silicone from Lowes.. i dunno how copper would have gotten in there but i will buy a test kit for and test for it tomorrow

It will say right on the bottle if it's aquarium safe or not for aquariums. I paid the extra money and bought the perfecto brand aquarium safe silicone.

This one is not reef safe, would recommend removing it right away. do a huge water change 25%, and put back your 10 gallon back in action, I hope things will come back, If you need help with anything just ask.

I completely agree with this. Pull the 50g ASAP. Just buy a new one. They are only like $100 new.

Silicone is tricky. The GE with the Gold label says "Mildew Resistant Yes". This = chemicals.
