Hi
We are a group of students at the cooper union for the advancement of science and art. The group consists of three electrical engineering student in out senior year. your senior project is an fully automated smart controller for an saltwater tank. Fish and live rock only. We are looking for experienced tank owners and experts to help us set up and run the tank manually while we slowly turn the controlling of the parameters over to an electronic system that we are developing. We have just acquired a 55 gallon tank and we are about to go shopping for the other necessary components. If there is any one who wants to donate stuff to us or volunteer of there time they can contact me at 201 344 80 99 or email me [email protected]. This will be a phenomenal project.

Thank for your kind consideration and co operation in advance

Hey guys welcome to Manhattan Reefs.

That sounds like a great challenging project.

Like Josh I'm very close to you, Bleecker st and Lagaurdia, and I have a tank :)

If you want to get together send me a pm, maybe a bunch of the local reefers would come over and check out what you want to do.
We have some really knowledgeable people on this board.

Sound great!! I live far but Ill bring the beer!!! Reefs, fish and beer. Hmmm so nice!! A lot of us are striving for a more automated setup. I know I am working hard on it. It would be good to have some real "brains" on this topic unlike my beer fried mass in my head. :icon16:

fully automated? hmmm... is that including cleaning algae? everything else seems easy except cleaning algae that would be an invention.

Your new deltec and cleaning crew will do that for you :) Running GFO seems to help too

wow, three months huh, you should definitely put the rock and water in now, so you can get the biofiltration going ASAP. it took mine at least 4 to 5 months i think even longer if i remember correctly.
