Does anyone know how to set up the apex so I can control it from out side the local network

Yes, you need to enable remote access in the config of the controller. Then you need to forward the port on your router so you are sending port 80 to the IP of the apex.

You should be running some sort of dynamic dns client in order to get it to work reliably.

If you don't know how to do some of these things post here and I will help you.

Just need to find out if port 80 is being blocked, I know Cablevision out here blocks port 80 and 25 (email) for residential customers; easy work around is use another port like 85
