is a swing between 8.0 and 8.2 a bad swing? i am going to try and change the bulbs on the refugium. they ren a reverse cycle than the main tank? i also dose kalk to try to keep it more stable. any ideas?

No, my pH swings from 7.9 to 8.3 over the course of the day.

that's not a swing at all. thats pretty much dead on and i wouldn't worry.

ok. cool. i just noticed a little die off at the bottom of a couple of sps colonies i have

I would check for a pest if if it is starting to have die-off from the bottom or thin it out cause it might not be getting enough light

I know parasites are small but i dont see anything. I had my po4 spike a little due to bad maintance for a month of non stop work

there r many reasons. your sps is receding. check your par. esp. ca/alk, water flow etc....

Alk is between 8.6 and 9.3 mag 1350 calc 400

I should have also asked about cal & alk see what happens when you assume parameters are correct lol. Well after seeing you slacked a bit I would say po4 is a culprit. Like Josh said any no2 or 3? Sps usually show signs much later on after an incident. I would try to get the alk more stable honestly
