Hello and Happy New Year all!
Just joined MR today. Not yet living in Manhattan but moving from London to NY in just under 2 months so thought I'd make a start! Originally from Limerick in Ireland.
I'm sad to be breaking down my current system (100G mainly FOWLR) but excited at the same time to have the opportunity to setup from scratch with many ambitions and wanting to setup with emphasis on coral this time round. I've got a regal, yellow and sailfin tang, 2 pairs of clownfish, a couple of wrasses, small shoals of chromis and anthais and various inverts. I made the same newbie mistakes of adding too much fish at the expense of the various frags before giving up completely on hard and softies! This was my first attempt at fish keeping and have learnt a lot.
Over time I'll setup a new tank thread and will be looking to a custom 36x36x24 with sump (rental apartment permitting, any advise most welcome), controlled as much as possible with with my current GHL Profilux III Ex and heading down the ZeoVit route. Need to do more research before committing to a decision re bailing/cal reactor and/or Kalk before I design the sump so suggestions also welcome.
As I'll be fresh off the boat I'm sure I'll have lots more questions over time and look forward to your responses.
