Mixing Salt? & my parameters.

Are there any concerns with mixing various types of salt together?

Salt X has high Alk
Saly Y has higher CA

Would there be issues to with mixing the two to get the best of both?

i believe it is done.
however, to be safe, would you consider mixing each one separately and just adding them to the tank?

There's more to salt than ALK and Calcium. My concern would be if both salt mixes had high levels of a parameter, which when combined, could reach lethal levels in an aquarium.

many use 50/50 of IO and Oceanic w/o any problems and over the years when ever I changed salts I did it slowly over a few months by mixing the two until I was using 100% of the new salt.

I am now using a 50/50 mix of IO and Oceanic under the advice of Tony at reef exotics.He did his own test on IO and found out that it is low in Cal. and mag.

Im saying the dosing takes care of the low mag. and low ca in IO salt... thats all.. giving my opinion i would rather not mix salt...:smokin::lol:
