in the past four years of me being in the hobby, I havn't really gone to many LFS's. Most of my order has been done online, and I really dont have a very good grasp of places to get fish/coral/inverts. so, I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions of well-run places to buy livestock and equipment. I live in carol gardens, brooklyn, and I'm hoping for some places close to there, but I'd be willing to go an hour or so to a really good place... thanks for any help, its greatly apprecciated!

Manhattan Aquariums in the city on 37th between 10th and 11th is my new favorite place. I was there last Sunday and they have a nice selection of frags from $5 to $40... along with the more expensive full sized colonies. I think it's worth the trip. Otherwise, I don't think anything is happening in Brooklyn.

Aquatic life direct just opened yesterday in Williamsburg. Long time vendors here on MR (Aquatic Express) it is going to be good, find the location and hours etc. in their forum. Beyond that, nothing else in the area at all. Manhattan Aquariums as noted above is fantastic and well worth the trip.

I live in Clinton Hill. There is Pacific Aquarium in downtown Manhattan, quick trip on the F train. They are really friendly and knowledgeable.
