i've done freshwater much longer then i've done salt. I started w/ out Redbelly paranas.... now i just a small like 26bow full of guppies, snow tetras and a nasty parrot. Its in my sisters room at my moms house, b/c i have no room and my 120g salt takes priority :)

That's my turf

I am a major FW fan. 5 tanks altogether and always setup FW tanks, especially planted ones, for friends so forth... :smokin:

That's why I always respond to MR memeber who have live sand to dump. I used some of those in the FW tanks.

I still have one cichlid and one goldfish at my parents home- going on 3 years now (6 for the goldfish)... have to bring my goldfish in soon...I miss that guy, he survived 3 years of traveling back and forth from college!

Gold fish is hardy in general.

They can tolerate quite bad weather changes and survive the cold out in the pond. They even breed in a puddle of my pool in my old house which suffer from drought due to a hole in the lining. :shocked1:

Furthermore, they don't jump out of the tank like my butterfly fish did!

Gmandese, Can you check out your Dino

Yes, I think they're being eaten. I'm not sure who's doing it, I can't catch them in the act!

Can you keep an eye on your Dino and see whether the Dinos are the ones that eat your water sprite?

Recently, I have a similar situation with an Asian plant where Dino are there too. I can never catch them in the act either. Couple branches are shorten to only half the length in one night. The Cichlids in the tank seem not the ones-I never see them bite on that plant. They only scratch the aglae on the glass with their tiny teeth and biting the fresh buddings of the java moss.

I think it might be the danios, because they swim in the upper 1/3 of the tank, and that's where the plants are getting eaten. All the greenery in the lower part of the tank is untouched! The Danios never go there.
