it's an acan.....doesn't need much lighting. well let me define my definition of much....i have 2x400 mh + 2x110w vho + 36w led......so even at the bottom of a 27" height it's still too much.
the colors were best at the bottom of a 75 with 6 t5's

lol...yes it's a lot of light but i run them at various timings.....most of the time only the halides are on. all of them are on only for about an hour or two a day.....i forgot the exact settings on the timers.
the display tank is 48x36x27 ~200gal. total volume ~270-290?? will be over 300 once i put the chaeto tank online.

Yea Tom Thats messed up!!!! Id have to do something if someone screwed me that bad!! As far as the "high end" coral thing, I think its all a marketing scam. Just think of how, a couple of years ago, the purple hornet were a big hit sellin at $50 pp and now you can get a mini colony for that price! Thats just one example.I also rember certain acans that were ridiculously priced and they have come down in price also. Its like the electronics industry, when something new comes out its mad expensive but after some time of it being out in the market the price drops. As far as zoas with all the names, Its almost like someone selling you homegrown weed and giving it a name to jack up the price!! lol

high end in reality is basically ora corals, the price hasnt waivered on their stuff. same with zoa's i know the names for most of them but have always went by what i want, not a name i had to have, the name part gives idenity to the coral and these are usually the one's with a little higher price. example of a high end sps is a purple monster, imo not a overly outstanding coral but brings a higher price because it grows slow as crap. Romels watermelon acro is another nice piece. i have always been one to like to get something i dont know what it is and see what i can turn it into. So for me high end means most colorful piece's which whether or not people will admit is what we all want, very colorful piece's.
