ryan- its actually an ocellaris..he was an aquacultured one that was born with one eye. when i worked at the lfs i saw his buddies all get sold so i brought him home to give him a good home. for filtration im running a converted 20gal high with about 18 inches baffled off for a fuge. and aside from that i run chemi pure...thats about it. nitrates are almost unreadable and ammonia/nitrite are zero.

wonderballz - thanks man. we have a bunch of lps and zoas, a maxima clam, a couple acros. fish wise we have been through hell lately...lost some favorites...were left with a hippo that we raised from about an inch to id say close to 3 inches, we have a filamentous flasher wrasse, a blue star leopard wrasse, court jester, orange spotted mandarin, orange spotted watchman, a one eyed clown, and that is about it for now. we did have a purple firefish, a fathead anthias, a kole tang, among a few others that the kole decided to kill prior to committing suicide.

nah not yet, if anything i will in the future, im trying to go for the natural approach and so far its working. ive found that if i trim back the mess of macro i have in my fuge every couple of weeks what remains utilizes a ton of organics from the water in order to regrow what i took out....that and begging lfs's to bag me bristleworms lol...love those little detritus eating monsters

Oh nice. How long has it been set up for? Seems like it's all going good then for the way your giving it a shot. Only thing I'd say, unless if you already had one or two, would increase flow and add a powerhead. Natural way like your set up is very simple to stabilize everything with high flow.

the tank has been up since october..i do bi weekly waterchanges although i doubt i need to do that much at this point considering the tank is barely stocked imo. i have a vortech mp 10 in mind so that is the next step...the return is a mag drive 7 that is elevated by a bout a foot...i estimate the flowrate to be around 600 gph if you factor in the vertical distance

Mp10 will be great and enough. I have a mp10es in my 46 bow and it does the whole tank. Just so you know.........an mp10 was given away at the raffle at the past fall swap! Lol might want to check into this upcoming one when the raffle thread starts!
