Coral Recession dont know why

Today i noticed one of my corals receding. I havent changed anything recently and do not notice any bugs. Take a look at the photos and let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks

Wow I have the same thing on a tort and dont know what to do. You know for sure its not AEFWs? Mine receded, stopped, and just a few days ago receded some more. Cant get myself to cut off the receded part just yet. Maybe STN?

I've noticed this with alk and calc issues. Also, that's the shaded spot. Guesses.

Just above the receding spot looks like AEFW damage.

YES it might be an AEFW when the lights are off get a flash light and check, if u don't see red bugs check your parameters

you have AEFW's u can see the lightly colors circles in the picture where they are feeding.
I think more people have these that care to admit they tend to like the lighter colored smother variety of acros
I have battled them in the past and and have found if you have a manderin or a smallmouth wrassse (six lines do very well) they seem to control them somewhat.
if you are able to remove the coral you will find eggs on the underside of the damaged coral.

I dont think so I could be wrong but the area I circled is definitely flat worms
I have lost my share of acros to AEFW

yes i agree those are red bugs get interceptor and treat your tank immediately

I have had both pests I dont believe I lost any corals to red bugs, but AEFW's
devastated corals within days
when I had the bugs I saw my 6 line picking them off corals
Just my observation but every time I medicate my tank I find it creates other problems so I try very much to let nature take it's course and I try to add a natural predators to control pests .
I think stability and balance is the key to a successful reef tank

Thanks everyone for your help, i went out today and bought flatworm exit thanks to saltwatercritters to treat my tank. Hope that does the trick, i was hoping it wasn't AEFW but guess have to accept it. If i do have red bug also hope not we'll deal with that later, i have a couple mardarins so hopefully they'll take care of them if i do.

Guess I'm following this. I had very similar damage to some of my corals. It first came out of no where and affected just 1 coral and stopped. I have to treat it before if gets worse.

what works?

if you dip the coral in coral revive or iodine it kills the worms but doesnt kill the eggs
this is a very tough pest to eradicate, I live with them in my tank like I said earlier I try to add natural predators
I have had an Argus wrassse that kept them at bay, sixline works well also

I would get some coral RX and dip all your corals for AEFW that kill them but not AERB . And check all your corals for eggs thats a must. you can also dip in Lugol's that also kills AEFW and AERB to but will treat the whole system for red bugs .
