MACNA 2011 RSVP Thread...

So, as most of you saw, I was asking about the 2011 MACNA show in Iowa. Came up with the idea of getting a head count and see if we could get a discounted price for airline if we had enough head count. So, simple let us know if your thinking of, or definitely going so we can come up with a ball park range of how many members might be going.

How would asking for a group discount interfere with your efforts? If I brought 10 people with me and asked them to give us a discount if we bought all 10 of them in one shot how would that affect you in any way? There are other things in life beside Manhattan Reefs you know.

MR probably has plans going on with MACNA maybe for a future event and don't wanna mess up the relationship it's no biggie in my eyes I just wanna go it's $22 a month to save from now to then to pay for a ticket we can save the money some where else like plane fare

Yes. I'm not complaining about the price of the event and do not want to go off topic with this thread already. This is a simple head count so someone could talk to a travel agent or someone for a discounted flight over there.

I agree, which is why I said what I said. Asking for a discounted rate on air fair is not a conflict of interest in any way with this forum.

I just want to make sure you are not asking the MACNA organizers for a discount for a group of MR members, not only is that not how MACNA works, but it would interfere with our planned activities.

That is perfectly fine and understandable. I just didn't pick that up in your previous post.

Completely understandable. Not at all will I do so. Air fair only...

Moving on...

I bet we could easily get 25+ people to go, I'm SURE we can get a deal. Even if they say they will fly 5 for free, we can just subtract that off everyone's ticket:Hydrogen:

Yea, I think it was like 250 round trip out of JFK, but I'm not sure. That would be sweet if we could get it down to like 100 bucks round trip per person.

This is what I was referring to in the other thread, those that are going have already made their plans. therefore, in order for this to work for you , you have to reach those that have not made their plans to go yet. Good luck, and I applaud you for your effort.
