Hey im just starting off with kalkwasser and i can finally see coraline growing and Ph rising.

My questions when you mix kalkwasser with ro/di water, does it mix absolutely clear as your saltwater in your reef? Or does it have a slight milky ness to it. Its still transparent but not clear. Its obviously a white liquid.

This after only using 2 teaspoons for 5 gallons mixed well with power head.

It should be pretty milky when you first mix it. What you want to do is let that mix sit until it settles out and you're left with clear fluid over a layer of sediment at the bottom. Then either drip from above that bottom layer or spill off the clear water into another container and drip from that. You just want to dose with the clear fluid and always drip it never pour it in.

Its on a auto top off from my reef keeper. So its going in slow. But i didnt know about stuff settling in the bottom. Right now there is an airline which is hooked up to a aqua lifter. That airline reaches the bottom of my resevior. Should i cut that line so it does pick up any settled kalk?

My resevuior is not transparent so i cant really tell if theres stuff in the bottom. As of right now i assume that the aqualifter is pulling from the bottom. Hope this isnt tooo bad.
