damn thanks my poor fish no didnt rinse rock, and sand did transfer but as safely as possibly. i did a swap 4 days. i have almost 200
I had very little sand in my 180 and didnt transfer it, that could have set off your cycle once you stirred the sand

lbs of live rock i assumed best way to swap is take all cycled from one to the other. sand was drained of all water, rinsed with tank water and swapped.

my best guess rinsing the sand did it
the ich developed because the fish were stressed

thats what im assuming. i did some research and some even said i will have a mini cycle. i didnt think it would be anything close to this. 3 fish down. its odd though, largest mandarin went, and 2 tangs. i would of thought smaller would go first. is ammonia gonna hert the corals? i added nitromax to help speed up the process. hope i have no more losses. i would do a huge water change, but reserves were tapped out during swap and i think a water change is only gonna slow down the inevitable thanks for ur advice frogman, in a forum where no one really knows no one, there are alot of people helping
