Pump noise/recommendation needed

I am currently running a iwaki 40rlt and find the noise from the fan a little too loud for my taste. Is there any other pressure rated pumps out there that are not as noisy as the iwakis? Does anyone have experience with the Gen X pcx 40 and how loud it is?

I was running an iwaki on my closed loop. I also thought it was a little loud. I switched over to a blueline SD 1100. I'm not sure if this model is pressure rated, you can look that up at Champion Lighting and Supply. It is a lot quieter than my Iwaki and uses less electricity.

I heard the new tunze pumps sound as quiet as darts. The smallest one does about 1450 gph at 12ft of head pressure for 120W. I'm about to get one of the larger ones for when I upgrade my skimmer. But they take 1.5" inlet/outlets.

have u tried placing it on a mousepad or 2 and making sure its sitting level?

yeah, i took all precautions with the mounting. The fan is whats causing the sound right now and since I have it sitting out in the open rather than enclosed inside my stand due to lack of space.

Does anyone have personal experience with the ns blueline pump?

I checked mine out, I know I initially posted SD, but it's an NS model... my bad, didn't mean to put out wrong info. Like I said, I'm running one one now on my closed loop. Much quieter and more flow/energy efficiency than Iwaki. It's also about 2/3 the price. Hope this helps.
