Noticed today my BTA split. It was intact yesterday. Does it mean it's not happy? It eats well.

As long as they aren't bleached or looking generally stressed it's a good thing and one way they can reproduce.

I had one split on me 4x in six months. My clown was in heaven! Switching from each one. All was fine till my Mantis ate them...

Hmm, didn't realize mantis' ate BTAs.

Generally it's good for BTAs to spilt, as long as it's not too often, then it's a sign of stress. As long as the split ones grow out to near the same size before they split again, it's good thing. For reference, I have an RBTA I've had for about 9 months and it's split twice. Neither of the clones have split at all.

I'm not sure why, but my two clowns love the original one way more than the clones. Maybe it's the location, but they spend probably 80% of their time in the original one, a few minutes a day in the clones, and the rest of the time around the tank.
