I ran an ampmaster 3000 before and for it's size it's very quiet. If you get the vibration pad for it i'm sure it will be dead silent. It's a nice quiet reliable pump. The seals have been updated too.

what kind of wattage do the ampmasters use??

A lot..

I have three ampmaster for sale, two 3000 and one 2700, pecan2phat have two 2100 for sale, one slightly used, one brand new.

Let me know if you want to buy one, price from $100 to $200, depending on the condition of the pump.

Well if you can tee off an ampmaster to feed other things such as a fuge, calcium reactor, etc, then the 150watts it uses is not bad. For that kind of flow, most pumps will be around that range. JMO
