hello all. just ordred my new sump to from thousand island aquarium on utica ave... the sump size is 30lx16wx12h. also had two 1 inch bulkheads holes drilled to use a external pump.. the question is i need a quiet external pump. my tank is 120 gallons.. plus the sump i have no idea how gallons that is going to be. the tank is in my livingroom which is off next to my bedroom so it need to be quiet...

It's decently quite, but you still hear it.

I have an ampmaster 2700 that I cannot hear. I need to put my hand on it to see if it is working.

I used to use a blueline pump, I could not hear it over the other sounds of the tank.

I ran an ampmaster 3000 before and for it's size it's very quiet. If you get the vibration pad for it i'm sure it will be dead silent. It's a nice quiet reliable pump. The seals have been updated too.

Well if you can tee off an ampmaster to feed other things such as a fuge, calcium reactor, etc, then the 150watts it uses is not bad. For that kind of flow, most pumps will be around that range. JMO
