Cal reactor controller?

I was checking my cal reactor to make sure it's working my ph set point on my SMS 122 controller is set around 6.4-6.5 it was reading 6.5 and not running so I started to play with it and relized that when my alarm on my controller goes on my co2 is still on giving co2 ( making bubbles) is it normal or should the co2 regulator completely shut the co2 off when the alarm is triggered ?
Before I noticed this alk and cal very stable
Next time I'm going with a doser lol!

Do you have a solenoid connected to your CO2 regulator?

Yes ... I actually just recalibrated probe and seems to have fixed the problem but not sure why which bothers me
Probe is proably not even 6 months so I guess I'll keep my eye on it !

How often u guys re calibrate ur probe??

What's going on u post a question that u really need help with u gotta beg for answers? You post pilots for sale u get a thread a mile long !

I need to make sure this does not happen again so trying to figure out weather it's because probe neede recalibration or a pice of faulty equipment ????

I was having the same issue and now I understand it a little more mine is set for 6.5 and the Co2 is plugged in my sms122 and comes on when the PH in my reactor goes above 6.5 in order to bring it back down, my reactor Ph is stable around 6.4 - 6.5 in order to dissolve the media

yeah because you want to keep the PH in the reactor between 6.2 - 6.5 in order to dissolve the media ARM begins to dissolve at 6.5 I have mine set up like that also you can check out melvsreef he also has set like that and since I set mine like that I have noticed that my sps are starting grow and yes your tank PH will drop this is normal but like with anything in life you have to adjust everything to your tank and bio load your corals and fish will tell you what works and what doesn't

I'm using my rlk to control my ph I have it set for 6.2.when the ph coming outta the reactor gets below 6.2 the rlk shuts the solinoid off which stops the c02 bubbles from going into the reactor .once it shuts off it takes a minute or to for the rest off the bubbles to make there way outta the hose so maybe ur looking at the bubbles coming out right after the solinoid stop .give it a minute or two and there should be no bubbles coming out .if they are then ur solinoid isn't working good there's a needle inside most of them that may need to be cleaned or replaced .once the c02 coming outa the reactor raises past 6.2 the solinoid turns back on and bubbles will take a minute to start coming out I'd u news more info pm me and ill give u my number and explain better on the phone
