Hey everybody, I'm Junior from Long Island, ny. I'm here to meet people and hopefully to be part of a club (if any around here) I have a Redsea 250 for about 3 yrs and recently purchased a 300 gallon reef tank by a company called AquaVim (80L X 32H X 24W) which is been running for about 2 months.this tank has 3 MH 400 watts 20000k, and 2 actinic 90 watts each. jbj 1/2 hp chiller, reef octopus XP 5000 (external). I'm also hoping to meet people who sells good quality corals, this tank I want to have sps and lps as well, and any advice that I may need in the future. thank you all. here's some pics of the Redsea, and the AquaVim.

Usually it is not suggested that reef tanks have either bio-balls or ceramic media in them as they tend to trap detritus and cause nitrates to rise which will ultimately cause you algae issues

dherrera hi, the skimmer as you can see in the picture it's external, and the reason why I have way up is so that water level in the skimmer it's not affected by the water level in the sump, and also it's way too tall to fit under the stand. My AquaVim is 300 gal. the sump is 75, and the redsea 65 gal.

Thanks for the advice that's very true, it came with the sump set up, but I'm definitely removing those.
