Using B-Ionic

I bought the 2 part B-ionic, what I want to know is, do you have to use both parts? Or if say my Alk is low (which it is, 6.8) but my Mg is fine, can I just dose Component 1?

Well the b ionic is a 2 part. 1 part alk the other part is cal. And ur cal and alk work together.

Ok, sorry, I just realized I typed that wrong. My Cal is 490 and my Alk is 6.8. Thoughts? I have never used this stuff yet.

You'll need all three to keep the balance and you need to continuously dose after your balance them out.

I was in the same situation last month and I just dosed ALK everyday and tested untill my ALK was up to we're I wanted it (go slow it took about a week and a half to bring it up) then I started with equal parts ALK & CAL. I also test my MAG but have not needed to dose that yet.

That's a correct approach to equalize cal-alk levels with two-part dosing. Testing mag is important too (mainly for larger tanks, magnesium in nano tanks can be replenished by regular water changes using quality salt) as it is the third element that has to be in equilibrium with alk and mag.
