I agree buddy..but as you see people of MR he DID NOT deny the purchase of the Hall and Oates greatest hits album. I rest my case.

This thread has totally reached its maturity point , and sorry for the typos I am up late with an iPhone !!!! That's totally catastrophic lol but in this world we have been given the free will to say yes and no , so lets excersize that right and apply it to making better choices whether choosing the right corals or by choosing your reefing buddies !! , lets wake up tommorrow with the ability to choose and the knowledge that we can walk away from the things that we don't like when life offers them to us.

You rest your Hall and Oates vinyl record case? Interesting. I'm not judging though.

First of all, thank you for bringing up the lowballing epidemic. This happens not only with zoas but with pretty much everything I see that hobbyists sell. I understand we are all trying to save some money but offering ridiculous numbers for high-ticket items has just gotten outrageous. (One guy offered me $180 for a brand new mp40...AND He wanted it SHIPPED!)

Oh and one more thing...I absolutely love when someone PMs me and says:

"Hey I found (whatever it is Im selling) for cheaper than what you are selling it for. LMK your best price. Thanks"

In all seriousness...MY BEST PRICE??? If you found an item's price to be cheaper than mine somewhere else, why are you informing me? I can care less. I'm not a Walmart Price match guarantee.

I was asked to make an offer on it by him and I told him that I would not embarrass myself. If I cant do at least 80% of a sellers price I say thanks and move on.

Can you come to my house? for a free frag? :fishhit::fishhit::fishhit::fishhit:

I don't get the point? For your information no I don't travel the world for free frags or any other miniscule valued item. People are so cheap they just see the word FREE they don't think "I have to cross a bridge to get this free item or it will cost be 20 in gas and 2 hours of my time." Personally when all things are factored in I'd rather just buy the item and not waste my time etc. I'm also the type of person that if I find something is offered free I offer a trade or cash anyway. Plenty of members here can attest to that because I'm not a grub I don't need to get things for free. If you buy a bunch of coral and someone throws in a freebie or 2 thats cool but I'm talking about when something is just plain free.

So now that we have all gotten that out of our system. Does anyone have anything that has over grown their tanks? Getting rid of some stuff that does not fit your system? Or hell just want to TRADE instead of running to the cash machine and explaining to the wife why that colony you bought is more important than paying the rent. Marrone started a freebie thread that is really cool. Its a pay it forward type thing. I have already traded coral to two members and as coral grow out, fish need a new home, chaeto runs wild, or equip becomes obsolete for the system I will continue to place FREE items on the freebie thread. I will of course still sell stuff (not a complete hypocrite) but I will look to pay it forward and promote the hobby. I would hope that others that have commented here do likewise.

:banghead: Isn't this essentially the same exact thing you said in your first post? Also, if buying a coral has any influence on your ability to pay your rent (or any other bills for that matter) you really shouldn't be buying the coral.

One of the reasons why I don't have a huge tank is because there's no way I could justify (or afford) the equipment, much less filling it with corals. Instead of buying a huge tank and complaining about how barren it is, I bought a 20 inch cube. Maintenance and overall costs are much less.

I'm not saying anything obvious here. It's common sense. There's nothing wrong with having a FOWLR or keeping inexpensive corals.
