Fragging Zoa's

I just got my fragging equipment and am eager to get started. I am wondering the best method to frag zoa's off a plug. I have watched a few videos but most times they chisel or cut the rock. I am wondering if it is possible to cut and scrape right off a plug. Some of mine have quiet a few polyps so think I can start trying.

Get some gloves and eye protection,get a SHARP scapel or razor and cut at the base of the zoa, put crazy glue on the frag plug beforehand and then put the base of the zoa in the glue. When you have all the desired zoas on the plug either dip in saltwater or squirt some salt water on the glue it makes the glue cure faster. Easy peasy

only thing I can add to this is use the blade to get under the base of the polyp, almost like shaving a very thin layer of plug or rock off with the polyp(s)

also use as little glue as possible, if you use to much you wind up having a harder time getting the polyp on the plug without getting glue all over it and ruining the process

Take a extremely sharp scapel, and cut around the polyps you want. Then take the blade and go under them, try to take a layer of rock with it. Then add a miniscule amount of glue on the frag plug, very thin, and using tweezers, carefully put the mat of the zoas on top of the glue. Gently squeeze down for a second or two, wait 5 minutes, then dip in SW and your good to go.

Ok, wish my first 3 frags luck. I kinda just renegaded it but hopefully will improve over time. Oh I also did it with the lights out so if they make it will be a mystery what they are

Last night I was reading up on fragging and read some stuff I thought I would ask about. One was wiping scalpel down with iodine before cutting and another giving the new frags a 5min vitamin C bath. Are these good ideas or any other trip/tricks?

Yeh but you cut the rock with bone cutters. I am fragging off a frag plug.

If I have marine iodine, do I just take a cup, add like 10 drops and dip after fragging? What is the effect of this?

The three from yesterday were looking good so I just made four more Hope they come out well also.
