Moneymaks24 you like your because yours works just as the top other salt but its save you money. No proof that ESV is better than others....
My self still using Sea chem Salinity. Loved it but prices keeps going up every time I buy new bucket. Love ESV same apply there too. I never saw difference from one brand to other besides one mixes better or clears up faster. Ect
What ever works for you is the best salt for you. It's ok to express how you feel. Listen if everybody like the same thing...Same car or same what ever we all be in trouble.......what makes this great you decides which you like and stick to it.

When I first started in this hobby I started with io then Rc then I went to brightwell all was good but I wanted more control. I was like you. man that salts to much but the difference between me and you is that I like to make sure before I say something is no good or won't work I like to make sure for myself so I hit up my where I was getting my salt from Gotham aquatic my big T and told him I wanted esv mix next. I got it mixed it and all they say is true. Now you tell me what salt mix out there that you can mix to keep you alk 7-8.4 or whatever cal or mag or salinity that you want ?
Both rc and coralife keep my alk at 8-9 so... basically u dont know what parameters were different in other brands just say tht. Also ph is always 8.2 calcium is 400 mag is 1400 and salinity at1.026 everytime i mix coralife.
Basically esv is for faster mixing time and "clearer" water is the only difference.

According to Foster & Smith... Coralife salt description:
The Coralife Marine Salt Mix Solution
Dissolving 1/2 cup of Coralife Marine Salt in one gallon of purified 78?F water will yield a solution with the following properties:
Specific Gravity: 1.021-1.023
pH: 8.2 to 8.3
Calcium: 390 to 410 ppm
Magnesium: 1,110 to 1.250 ppm
So according to that, you are mixing add'l salt to reach higher salinity and you do not get 200g of salt mix from a 200g box!
Sorry i dont know how to quote people w this new update but: all i know is that i use exactly 2 1/2 cups of salt per 5 gallon of rodi water and get perfect params always.
Even if what u say is true that it doesnt amount to 150 gallons of saltwater. For $85 i can buy 300 gallons! of coralife and still have $5 left.
Anyway u slice it, besides the " quick mix " factor ESV salt is nothing special. IMO.

Oh and ESV is only easily found on 1 website!( marinedepo) so thats another $6 shipping. So its actually $91 per /200 gallons vs Dr foster u can buy 2 150 gallon boxes of coralife and get free shipping. The reasons just keep adding up if u ask me.
So to sum up: $91 for 200 gallons ESV
$80 for 300 gallons of coralife.
Save $11 and get more salt its a no brainer imo. Yet members here attack me like im suggesting something bad lol i really dont get people sometimes.
