200g DD Tank & Stand

A few weeks ago I purchased this tank from a member on MR. Lucky me, it came with a crack! He refuses to give me a refund so here I sit with a useless tank. Wife is furious so I need to get it out of sight.

Does anyone need a lizard tank? Will not deliver. Would like to get $100 for the tank.

The stand and canopy is also for sale. It's the Monterey stand/canopy by Marineland. $350

Is the crack in a spot you can see it? If so its kinda your fault for buying it without inspecting it. And if you did inspect it and didnt see it maybe it was cracked during transport. If its in a spot you cant notice it then its the seller responsibility to give you a refund and I would give him a horrible RR and maybe even take him to small claims court. 700 hundred to throw in the toilet is not something I would do

It's my fault. It was filled with sawdust. I asked him to use a shop vac to clean it out and he refused and gave me a rag with water. I should of walked away right then but I thought he was honest. Rag with water did nothing but smear it around. Crack is so unnoticeable you would think its just a scratch on the bottom of the tank. You can fill it with 100 gallons of water but at the half way mark the pressure is so high it begins to leak. Defiantly did not happen during travel.

It was a 450 investment not 700.....but it still hurts all the same.

Wow.. dude.. that really sucks. Try to find a local Glass Shop and see if they can cut you another piece of the same size and they might even be able to seal it with some waterproof sealant or silicone. It might be less than $350 (which is already what you are willing to lose by selling this for $100). I bet you have to hear about it everyday from your wife... I can understand what you are going through. It just sucks!!!

You might be able to sell the stand and canopy separately... and make back your $450.

So, how much did you paid for the whole set up? if you paid $350 for stand and canopy $100 for the tank,

Are you trying to sell for what you paid?

'I paid 450 for the set. I couldn't in good conscious make a profit off a cracked tank. Just looking to make my money back if possible.

Make sure you rate that reefer, it helps every member here in knowing who we're dealing with. Helps us know if that reefer is an honest seller and trust worthy. Sorry to hear your situation.

If you are patient and use craigslist and ebay, you will recover a good portion by selling the stand and canopy, just take a deep breath, you will get most of it back

Let this be a lesson learned for all of us, if its too good to be true, it usually is. A 200g dd for $450 was a red flag but I can relate so not givin u a lecture

Ok you see how under his username under it there 100% reefer rating?

Find the seller and he will have the same thing. Click his and leave a negative and comment

Look under my name on the left. In blue is the rating.
