I have a BMnac skimmer at the correct water level in my sump and have been tryin to get it to produce brown skimmate for the longest.Right now it only skims green and I'm not skimming wet..I'm I doing something wrong?

what's your bioload like? if its a light bioload there won't be much to skim to give you that dark brow skimmate. also, I've noticed skimmate colors range from dark brown to almost puke green. I would only be concerned about skimmer performance if you see a nutrient spike. if everything is where its suppose to be, I wouldn't worry about the color of the skimmate.

I have around 12 fishes in a 75 gal..my biggest being a 5-6 inch tang.. On weekdays i feed once per day and weekends between 2-5xs per day....Some say the green skim may be because of algea i dont know how true that is

It's from another forum, and it's only one part of the post that seemed relevant.

Skimmate can be a few different colors, ranging in your basic earth-tones. It can be green-tea yellow/clearish to nearly dark brown/black. While the skimmate can be green from algae, it is not always algae that gives it the color... that is why it is -0.5. Still, skimmers can remove algae and phytoplankton/bacteria but I would be careful as to explain that is really is not moving algae, but rather DOC (mostly) and those can appear green as well. If your collection cup is exposed to light, it is more likely to grow algae in the cup too.
