When left to spread uncontrolled I've seen them completely blanket the sandbed, rocks, and coral. Obviously no big deal with sand and rock (if you like that look :shocked1: ), however, when they completely cover coral they will block out all light. Not a really good way to sustain coral long term![]()
Oh well in that case I could see them being a problem but if you have a few fish that are known to eat FW you could technically let them feed and even if they don't eradicate them right away it won't be a big deal. The only reason I say this is because I'm always hesitant to use any chemicals in my reef even if they're proven to get the job done. I used that stuff for cyano a long long time ago and it was a disaster, I think it did more bad than good, so after that I kinda just like to take the "natural" way out if possible.
