WTF Drugs on the Homepage

Normally I would say who gives a ****, but I know you do, so I'm not going to say that . There are so many bigger things to fret over. While I don't really like all the articles that reefs.com posts, especially the tree hugger types, I do enjoy the whimsical posts from time to time.

You know i just read the article and while its titled and referencing canabis, it really has mostly to do with aquaponics. The mention of canabis at all just seems to be used to get attention and highlight the new uses as medical marijuana becomes a growing industry. I found it quite interesting on an aquaponics level and much less so on the canabis side. I would not have read the article at all without all the attention it has generated here. Thank you WTBClownfish for raising this to my attention. Thanks Josh and everyone for the work and content you provide.

You are right. It is not that I really care about the article but some of the responses. It was a legit question about how it relates to reefs. Then some people turn it turns into a pro pot and anti pot discussion. Instead of attacking people and explanation such as, "the main focus of the articles are reef based, on occasion we like to have articles which are not directly related to reefing but the enviorment, sustainability and the aquarium trade as a whole, both fresh and saltwater."

Instead there are responses such as, I dont think the weed is the problem it is the people complaining. When someone attacks the person instead of the argument it is one of those things that annoy me. For the most part the homepage has some good articles.

If you just say oregano on this forum all the "reefers" start throwing up 420 signs and brownie recipes You'll get used to it.

I find it an interesting read. This thread seems to have started off as censorship of this website. At the same time Playboy has great articles on fancy cars. Sports Illustrated has a swimsuit edition. I took the article as it covered a few concepts, not at all promoting the use of illegal activities. If you don't like it, don't read it. Also, you promoted the hell out of it and 10 times the amount of people read it since you brought it attention.

We ARE "Reefers" lol,,, kind of related- They've busted a few people out west for growing mary jane in their attic because their homes were the only ones without snow on the roof. they also found 1 or 2 frag farmers. Don't remember where i read that but its true lol

Interesting that there are quite a few discussions relating to that subject online.
It goes a tad bit beyond my comprehension to bio-engineer plants to accept those types of salinity levels.
Unless cultivating seaweeds.

On a side note, apparently in Israel date palm trees are often irrigated with seawater. That would be a great test! (though good luck keeping that in a "test tube")

It seems like you agree with me. Your example choices are poor. Playboy is a men's entertainment magazine similar to Maxim with nudity. It covers a wide range of topics. It is not like the porn magazines with titles "Young and Busty." Swimsuits are used for the sport of swimming. I do remember one year they had a edition where the girls wore painted on swimsuits.

I also don't care how many people read the article. I hope more people read the article and participate in this conversation. I think it is an intresting topic but thought it was weird having an article on the homepage about it. Times have changed. Even major news outlets are running full length documentaries about pot. Pot smoking and growing is a major part of today's society.

I didn't want to start another argument with Dubs, but he mentioned the use of hemp. Since weed is a schedule 1 drug hemp can't be grown or used in America. The use of hemp instead of cotton and polyester fibers will reduce our impact on the enviorment, create jobs and reduce the amount of outsourcing.

The most beneficial part about aquaponics is that it will reduce the demand of pot grown in the woods by drug cartels. Who dump fertilizers and waste poducts into the environment and destroy the waterways by building irrigation systems.

Hydrophonics has been used for 1000's of years and a cool idea. Done properly you can harvest 2 food sources (fish, vegetables) and a source to increase your appetite to enjoy you freshly harvested food.

at the moment, under federal regs, mary jane is classified along with crack and lsd as schedule 1 , with no medical use and no reason for further study. schedule 2 is oxy and cocain that do have some medical use. they provide pain relief ,but have a high potential for abuse.

keep in mind aspirin will kill a person deader that heck and is otc.. is it possible this plant has some positive use's .. and be less dangerous then the S2 drugs u mentioned.. like cocaine and oxy?
