I set up a new 34 gallon deep blue tank. Dimensions are 36"x18"x12" can't decide on blue or black on this shallow tank.. it will be a fish only want the color to make the fish pop and make the tank seem bigger. Open to advice and suggestion.. if blue is better, what color blue?

Blue AND black -- I like to use two different shades of blue -- a light and a medium -- kinda of splotch them on on top of each other and then cover them with 2-3 layers of black on top of that. Gives an effect of depth which I love. I use darker blue mostly at the bottom and get lighter towards the top.

have mixed different blues with black and white to try to get a natural look. Looks good but in the end think black is best. Think mirror would be a problem for some fish showing agression toward the reflection of same fish, same size, etc

I ended up painting the bottom black and top blue.. I was told it'll make the colors of the coral and fish pop in different ways... what do you guys think

I have blue and it makes the tank brighter. Black gives a calm but sharp look. This is where I would say either way your be happy but will have second thoughts. Because if you go black at one point you might say I should of went blue. Same thing if you go Blue you should of went Black....for me blue = brighter and black darker look

I'm diggin the two tone, the blue makes the colors of the fish pop one way and the black makes the color pop in a different way. I have black on the bottom and the white rock contrasts really well. With the blue on top it still makes the tank seem brighter and seems bigger
