And what does baking it for longer and at a higher temperature do?
aight im making a new batch of alk tonite using recipe 1 and i am going to heat the rodi water with a heater at 90 degrees and add a little at a time and mix alot... making a 5 gallon bucket ill let you all no how it goes... up until tonite ive always had a problem with it dissolving completely
thats what i did last time and had about 2" of cake on the bottom that would not dissolve for nuttin... baked it for an 1 and 1/2 at 400 degrees
Alright Regal... That's what I was looking for... someone to drop some science on me.
I'm not trying to start a flame war and I'm not saying I disagree with Regal, but are there any opinions to the last few posts?
Well, well, well. I did the same thing and it worked just fine. Thanks Matt, Tony, Regal.ok chris the batch i made just fully dissolved in the bucket.. what i did was placed the baking soda on a baking sheet let it do its thing in the oven at 400 degrees for 1 hour and 1/2.. i also stirred the baking soda on the tray about 45 min. into the baking...
I had the rodi water already heated up to 90 degrees from a heater... i took a cup at a time and sprinkled it in and kept stirring while sprinkling it in.. also had a small powerhead moving the water... had the bucket 3/4 full after adding all the baking soda, I topped off with the 1/4 of water I had taken out of the bucket and its all good.... nuthing left over and water is clear...
I get obsessive compulsive over certain things.![]()
