What is your reef water parameters at....

just looking to get a feeler for what everyone keeps there tank parameters at...

mine as of now (will update when i do the other tests)

salinity - 1.026
ph - 8.13
alk - 10.2 dkh
calcium - 370ppm
magnesium - 1400
nitrates - 25 ppm
phosphates - ? (going to be checking this with a hanna meter this week)
temp - 78-80 f

I know and understand what the perfect parameters are and in no need do i need them reiterated to me, mainly cause I know no one keeps them there.. everyone does there own thing because it works for them.. so guys speak up and lets see where we all stand... (lets use exact numbers please)........ and also i def. dont want to see my parameters are perfect, the LFS says so, or i can tell they are perfect... :lol2:...

Ca - 400 to 440
Alk - 11 to 12 dKH
Mg - 1200 to 1400ppm
PO4 - .12 PPM
PO3 - 30 PPM

Nitrite - havn't tested it in years
Amonia - havn't tested it in years

Calcium- 410- 450ppm - Salifert
Mag- 1320ppm (steady as a rock for some reason) - Salifert
Phos- 0 ish - Salifert (yuk)
Temp- 77-79 (slightly higher in summer)

Reef tanks are usually/often maintained at 1.026 (if you look up through the thread you will see that mine is at 1.025, this in only because mine slowly drifts down and needs to be ocassionaly adjusted)

Fish only systems are often kept at 1.021, I think it has to do with managing disease.

How do you know it is the pappone? What was your phosphate before you started with the pappone? How frequently are you feeding it?

well the only other thing i was doing was feeding flake food 2x a day.. and pappones is very rich in phosphates... also amino acids... ive been doing it for about 7 weeks and am pretty sure its the pappones... im stopping feeding entirely and am working on bringing down the phosphates... i was feeding once a week...

I just ask, because if you read through the RC thread on the pappone, it does not appear that they are having a problem with phosphates. I could be wrong.

How do you know it is not the flake food? What where your phosphates at before the pappone?
