hi guys heres the question if I take all of the water sand and rock from my 75gallon tank and put in in my new 125gallon tank and ad 50gallons of new water would my fish be okay would that be like a big water change my 75gallon tank has been running for 2years also its fish only please reply :duh:

depends on how well you maintained your 75. If the sand is full of .....stuff, you may disturb it and end up causing a spike. I'd take the opportunity to clean up some of the sand and rock a little by washing it in a small bucket of tank water just to make sure.

Totally agree! I've done it several times. Just make sure you match the parameters that are in the 75 currently. And yes, I saw it as a large water change. The last upgrade I did was very similar to yours 75 up to 120 fowlr. I used the old sand to seed the new sand, and a short while later I added some more cured rock.
