Site suggestion-Vendors please read

I know there is a thread for suggestions but I can't find it. Is there a way that a want to buy for vendors forum could be added?

Say I'm looking for a NEW bulb, heater or whatever and am looking for availability and or prices. I would simply post it in this forum for the vendors to read and respond. I believe this would be much easier than PM'ing or posting to each vendor.

I don't think most of the vendors have the time to read all of the Want to Buy threads. How many of you vendors do read the WTB threads?

After all the talk of supporting the MR vendors, I think this would be an easy way to keep things "In house".

Not sure how much "easier" it would be for vendors to scan through a dedicated "Vendor WTB forum" over the current WTB forum. :scratch:

I've noticed that active vendors have been responding to threads in the current forum.

it might become a problem if all vendors are answering a single post and trying to get the business. It would probably breed animocity and other problems among the vendors.

Yes, if you want an answer from a specific vendor.

I thought of it this way, if I am looking for something I'm not going to make the same post to every vendor here. And therefore I do look to some of the larger online stores as I can look through their stocking lists to see what they have.

I see what your getting at with problems, particularly undercutting prices as posts get answered. But I would give the MR vendors first shot if it was as easy as making one post. The vendors could also just PM answers to the poster so there would be no conflicts.

I just was trying to think of ways to help the vendors here after reading Chief's post about supporting them.

Dave, that is very thoughtful of you to suggest a specific forum for this type of 'New Merchandise' wanted thread. It does appear that most people post in the WTB forum when they are looking for used items.

I will say that I do look at the WTB thread and will normally respond when appropriate. Everyone I've responded to has always been appreciative and thankful for the response.

Your suggestion goes a long way to the support of the vendors that do support MR, and if I can respond for all of us, we appreciate that.
