aaah the old Heineken trick, you should peel the label off because it will come off eventually, probably not harmful but it would split into alot of peices and become a pain

holding beer because it got messy cupping your hands and running home to watch the game.

:lol2: Figured even the fish and corals are going to deserve a good beer

I was thinking the label might come off, it's not the paper labels anymore though, it's plastic or similar to a plastic material on the new heine bottles. Hopefully it will stay on. If not ah well.

havent drank beer in a long time but some of the label have aluminum in them. id take it off to be safe.

I wrote an email to heineken to see what the chemical composition of the labels is, hopefully they will get back to me in a timely manner. If not we will pull it out until we know for sure. Want to start off right... I am sure we will make many many (should I say many one more time?) basic mistakes in the near future. No need to complicate things over a beer bottle in the tank.

I doubt they make their own labels so even if they get back to you, take it with a grain of salt and take off the label to be safe. I imagine the bottle itself might become a trap for arthropods, i.e. shrimp and crabs.

You should go to and antique store and get some old glass bottles. It might look really cool in your tank. instead of the heiniken bottle.

There have been bottles in my reef since Nixon was president. The labels are no problem, it is the glue.

These I cover with fiberglass resin.

Very awesome what happened to those bottles over time. That was the idea when I put it in.... hoping that we will be successful with this reef thing aka addiction and it would have to be sought out as a bottle :shhh: at some point in time. I take it your bottles were label-less?
