Well I don’t want to be known as somebody that likes to start trouble and controversy intentionally. I really enjoy being part of MR and hope to be part of this forum for a very long time. I am a person that loves to learn new and right ways of doing things and I feel I can learn from you guys. Being away from the hobby for about five years things have changed and that is why I am here to get up to date and learn from the Pros and everybody here. So just keep in mind that that little one is going in my BioCube real soon. Here are a few pictures of the BioCube and the one gallon so you know that I am not lying to you guys. I also tested the water at 9:15pm today and I also took pictures of the readings and here they are.BTW a pinch of fish food will cycle your tank just the same as the damsel. Cycling tanks with fish is cruel, but you already know that since it has been said numerous times. Think of it like taking a puppy and throwing it into a drum of acid to "make sure it's still acid." Shipping fish is similar yes but not permenant but if that is your purpose of this thread take your tanks down and donate your fish to the local public aquarium and then go to LFS's and protest the sale and shipping of fish.
Your threads are designed to be combative and they seem to want to only start trouble and controversy, and intentionally at that. If I want this I'll go to work.
NOW even as patient as me, I am mad at you. I still want to know about the wattage of the light.:irked: J/K
For real, I want to know how come it looks relatively bright in your tank-is it due to the tank being small, or being shallow or just the light is bright by itself.
Thanks for your reply.
PC, the point that everyone here is trying to make and you keep dancing circles around it, is the fact that you're using a fish to "make your LR and LS stronger". Not really understanding that terminology I believe you mean that you're trying to increase the biological colonies needed to break down fish waste, uneaten food, etc.
The fact that you plan to move the fish to another, larger tank VERY SOON is not soon enough. It should never have been used for the purpose you're using it for.
You continually try to equate shipping stress with subjecting the fish to the ammonia cycle. That is comparing apples to oranges. During tropical storms, hurricanes, typhoons, etc. the seas are extremely violent. That is not the same as pesticides being washed into the sea and killing fish.
The ammonia cycle burns the gills of fish. Yes, shipping causes stress but in a totally different way (unless the shipper improperly bags their fish).
This thread and conversation has gone in such circles you're going to cause members to throw up their hands and give up on offering you advice.
And I wholeheartedly agree with Lissa........Kathy deserves a much better, sincere apology for your attack on her. Nobody here has attacked you. On the contrary, whether you believe it or not, they/we have been trying to impart some wisdom upon you, and you've been the one to show aggression.
Time to wash my hands of this one.
Happy reefing,

DS, You have a propensity for turning things people say into a battle for some reason. No I don't think you should apologize to Kathy on the phone or in writing. I think it would be much more sincere if you just had Scotty beam you up and do it in person. Jeeeez
As for what to do with the fish.....this post is the first time in the entire thread that you made some kind of gesture, albeit a tiny one, that it shouldn't have been there in the first place. Every other post has been trying to validate your inappropriate treatment of the fish. All this BS could have been avoided had you just stated that it was not the right way to cycle your tank and you tried but had no other place to put it. Case closed.
You also mention in your most recent post about 'demands' everyone is making on you. Once again, nobody is putting a gun to your head, nobody is holding you hostage, nobody is making demands. All we are trying to do is offer you advice. Obviously this particular 'go round' is history. But the way you've been trying to defend your actions makes everyone believe that you would have no problem repeating the same routine in the future. If all of this nonsense has enlightened you, then it was well worth all the drama. If not, then once again, I will throw up my hands and say good riddance.
I hope this was part of a learning curve and everything will go smoothly hence forth. We really are here to help, not go toe to toe.

What makes you think that the tank was not cycled just becuase I said that I wanted to make the LR, LS and water stronger. Even when a big tank is cycled and you put in a fish for the first time the tank makes changes that make all the live stuff stronger and that was the point that you guys make me feel like you don't know, that is why when buy fish we could only put in so many at one time so everything in that tank gets back to normal.
Am I right or wrong. The little tank was cycled...
