Coralline in the sand?

has anyone heard of coralline in their sand? I have noticed that coralline appears on the sand in my tank in the late afternoon. I have the Actinic lights on for approximately 12 hours and the daylight(?) on for 7 hours. Am I using too much light. What lighting schedule do you use and did you ever experience coralline in the sand?

I have seen coralline growing on peoples sandbeds ... only on larger shells that are in the mix ... that's about it ...

I couldn't remember the name. Is Cyanophyta the same thing and what's the right pronunciation.

What is your phosphate?

Probably you have cyano, post a pic to be sure.

Change water and replace any filtration media if you have any.

I have coralline growing on my sandbed--it does NOT appear over the course of the day, it's there all the time, just like coralline anywhere else in your tank.

Coraline does not come and go every day. Must be cyano. There are lots of threads about how to get rid of it.
