Scuba Cerification

Does anyone have recommendations on which school/company I should use to get my open water certification? I'd prefer to use one in the city. Right now I'm leaning towards Empire Divers. Their price is the best I've found so far. Any thoughts would be helpful.

just curious, where is empire? I'm also looking.

I have not gotten certified but most people I've spoken with say PADI.

Their classroom is on E 81 St. The pool is on W 14th St. Yeah its a PADI certification. Here is their site.

NEW YORK (WABC) -- To become a certified scuba diver, you usually have to block out a few weeks for classes and training. Now, you can do it in just days, without leaving New York City.

All it takes is three full days in the new course, offered at the Reebok Sports Club on the Upper West Side. And you can book your diving vacation the very next week.

In much the same way as the early scuba equipment designed by Jacques Cousteau has become smaller and more streamlined, so have the courses to teach new divers.

In just three days, you go from the classroom to the pool to becoming a certified diver.

Though NYC waters produce great divers.
They do not look very inviting.

Yup, I grew up a Bronco fan. There's a handful of us and watch the games together. It's looking like a very rough season ahead of us though.
