Site Features - Suggestions

We have a few really cool features we will be launching over the next month. As these tools get polished up for their debut, we wanted to get the hopper filled with a new set of ideas for what we can be doing better here on MR.

So, here is your chance.

What would you like to see on MR? Think outside the box. We're pretty much game for anything constructive.

Tank of the month ... I know ... I know ... everyone thinks their tank is the best ... and blah blah blah ... but there are some REALLY REALLY NICE tanks on here ... very artistic. So why not?

We had a Tank of the season for a season I would like to see a tank of the month as well. MR crew can just create a template and the winner would have to do all the work

I think it would be nice to have a video gallery

I would like the picture on the home page to change multiple times a day..perhaps having 5-10 pictures in a slide show?

I also think that all members should be required to have a tank thread(perhaps after 1 year this requirement would kick in), everyone should add to this site, not just take from it.

Maybe this site could get Ventrilo and after a peron has posted 25 posts, they can get on ventrilo and talk live with other people from this forum.

There is a feature that this site lacks that drives me NUTS. When you are in a post, there is no forum tree up top. Some times, depending on how I got to a post, I don't know what forum I am actually in. I.E. I may be posting on a thread that is a for "sale thread" and not even know it. Also, it means you can't 1-click back to the thread list of that forum...

If you left click on you name one of the options in find more posts. You can also go to your profile and under stats you can list all the threads you started and posts you made.

There are many who sneak on to this site at work or maybe even school and i think that havent a feature where the page is transparent like a ghost would be very cool.
i remember AIM had this feature about 10 years ago..i think it was called Ghost SKIN......you would be able to type whatever without anyone really seeing it unless they are as close as you are to the screen....

How about a "low band width" version? If I'm on the go using a SLOW hot spots, it would be nice. Also it would be less flashy and bulky when surfing from work.

I would think that would have to be a feature that you would just download for your entire browser.

i agree on some sort of notification like FB.i know you can click your name and check but it takes a while.it would be so nice to just click a notification and see who posted.especially when you are trying to sell an item.also what about a user having the power to delete unwanted posts for himself.and not have to worry about dumb banter on there thread IE led good or bad thread .also it would be cool to block unwanted person from posting another post in that thread

This is because Im a total newb and cant remember squat in names sometimes......

Id like to see instead of the random fish and corals that are different everytime you go to the homepage to see a coral(s) and fish(es) of the week with multiples that stay up with an in depth description, including what NOT to place them near and where to place it in the tank so if I see something I really want to get I dont either have to write it down immediately or hope to remember it, and will know how to take care of it the right way to get me off to a good start with it.

Members should be able to vote to ban certain members. You all know how we get these characters that come by for a few months and contribute to nothing but raising blood pressures. Well we should be able to vote them off, would save months of aggravation on the mods.
