so last week i changed my wet dry to a sump and put a filter sock on my flex pvc. so today i hear my ato coming on 2times. i was watching tv with my wife and i thought ok sump must have been a little low. so i decided to go take a nap before i pick up my kids from my mom house. i wake up half hour later something not letting me take a nap. i keep thinking about my ato putting water 2times consec. before i took a nap i noticed my tank water level was higher , i was like huh, i siphon a bit and take a nap. when i wake up boom! water all over my floor i was like wtf! i take the sock off which i have it with a zip tie and go to wash it with hot water. suddenly i noticed soap i was like wtf! so i make a call to a member and i wash again but i make sure no soap! o just put the sock again , zip tie it and walla running normal. im going to by 4socks! now i know why guys talk about changing there socks every week!.

NEVER ZIP TIE!!!! water need to be able to flow out the top of the sock if its clogged. that was the mistake. i have 6 socks, an i only run them 3 days at a time max.

This is the reason you shouldn't zip tie a sock around the drain line. You want it set up so the water just comes out of the top of the sock and spills into the sump when it clogs.

It is misleading because you see stores have their socks tied.

I dont tie mine, but I see Pets Warehouse ties theirs.
