If the coral is high end then yes but if it is a regular chalice then no. Making coral affordable for everyone is not always the case with ppl on the site. I like to give out free stuff here and there and I wish ppl woul do that to but chem do not get up set some ppl are good natured and if u look you will find them. Alot of members o. This site are goo ppl and will help out.

Who are you or I to say what someone can ask for coral. If the price is to high, no one will buy it.
Most people are trying to offset the high costs of this hobby by selling a few frags here and there. If they buy nice stuff, should they sell it cheap b/c we don't want to pay that price?
If I buy a boat, is it fair to ask my friends to pay for some gas when I take them out fishing?
I have some nice stuff, and some not so nice stuff, my for sale prices range depending on the piece. Should I sell everything cheap b/c people on MR don't want to pay what is a fair market price?
I have tried to sell a large coral for $20, and not had one PM, then I mark it as "free" and I get 30 PM's in 30 minutes. I have had equipment at reasonable prices, and no one sends a PM, I took off 8% ($20) and I got 11 PM's in less than an hour.
Everyone is within their right to charge what ever they want for coral/fish/livestock...it will only move if the price is reasonable, or in fact, cheap as MR is cheap.
There are only a few people on this site charging crazy amounts (This only applies to non-vendors), and I agree they are scummy, but it's within their rights to do so. AND, furthermore, you should be happy you live in a country that allows them to do so, and gives you the right to say "no" and shop around!

I look at it this way. I buy coral to enjoy looking at, and watch it grow.
If I buy a piece for $150.00 and it grows over a couple of months/years, and decide to frag it. I am more than likely going to Give it away or take 25 bucks for it.
Once you start to try and break even on something..... Greed kicks in.
On another note. I would never buy an overpriced "Garf Bonsai Echinatia Golden tail Extra super duper magnifico Branching Deepwater Acro"
Unless it was going for a fair asking price.
This is not to say I have never bought an expensive coral.
I'm just not looking to get my money back 6 mos. later
Perhaps the 2 go hand in hand? Maybe the ppl buying the expensive corals justify it to themselves by saying "I can frag it soon, and get my money back"...maybe? Also, maybe some people are not trying to make the money back, but just offset as I mentioned in my previous post (I don't think you saw that post as we were both typing at the same time).
once again y cant everyone base there frags for sale 10 to 20$,this hobby is suppose to be about helpin others and sharing knowledge not keepin secret undergroung vendors or what ever to them selfs. so people say i got this and that all the stuff that everyone wants but doesnt want everyone else to have what they have cuz its a competion

I help other people out b/c I am a good person who likes to help others (or at least i consider myself as gd person). There is no greater correlation between being in this hobby and being a good person as there is in "normal" society.

sorry to hijack but this is y our nation is f up cuz of all those wall street jerks and lenders, all the jerks that get unemployment and say f working im making money to do sh*t and sit on their butt while u got people lookin for jobs everyday and aint finding nothin. i know guys who got f 2yrs gettin 600$month and dont do jack!
All vendors are not overpriced either. I just recently got 16 sps frags,,,, big one with names and stuff LOL, for $110 bucks.
