I finally had some time this weekend to do some much needed re-design work on the center left section of the 240g. reef. Over time, as things grow, you begin to lose some definition to the aesthetic presentation and calculated coral pruning and tweaking of the aquascape is both enjoyable and necessary to the success of the system. My primary goal was to create some more room for the large table Acro's to grow and to counter the increasingly "wall of rock " feel the tank was growing into by creating more well defined channels and caves and using negative space to break up the sight lines. It still needs some work on the far left section, but I'm happy with the results so far. Now lets see how the animals settle into the new light and flow patterns.

Thanks everyone.

Warren, not to drag this thread down the LED/MH road, but I have still never seen a full-blown SPS dominated reef lit by LED's that AESTHETICALLY looked as good as those lit by MH. I do not question the ability of LED's to grow and maintain healthy corals of all types, I just don't think the spectral quality is quite there yet--soon, but not yet IME.

As a frame of reference though, my very large music collection gathered over several decades is still largely on..... cassette tape!!!! :lol2:

What's wrong with cassette tapes ??? Not to berate the CD but cassette tapes taught me patience..... LOL

Great tank randy, don't fall victim to the " it can be better" mentality, it is a GREAT looking tank. Excuse me ECOSYSTEM is a better adjective.
