Will a reef stay at the temp of air I left my air on 78 so it won't get hotter then that in my coop Do u guys think that's good ? I run LEDs
My tank usally sits right at 78 I would think if it goes above 81 I'm gonna lose some sps

If there's nothing you can do about it...'try' to enjoy your vaca!
Sh*t Happens, whether you're 1 mile from home or 5000 mi.
Tank should stay around 78, if that's what worked for you, while you were at home.

FWIW, when I lived in Arizona, I didn't run a heater or chiller in the summer. I just left the AC in the house at 78. The tank stayed between 79-81 and I ran 2X 250W MH.

Have fun on your vacation and don't stress the tank!

My Dad is stopping by Monday Wednesday (fish gonna be hungrey this week )
Then I'll be home sat but he knows nothing about tanks but I figure I'll call him monday and if he sees an issue he can lower air or call a service to come check it out
Worst case I get to start over which would be a blessing in disguise I would do a few things way different

So the hard rock hotel in punta Cana is pretty amazing it's huge wAter has been rough so no snorkeling off the beach but I have a trip planned for tues and have been debating taking the 2 day scuba class 1 class in pool 1 by the reef have any u guys scuba here is it worth the $170 when I can snorkel for free?

If you take all the precautions before hand and get someone to just check on the tank everyday or every other day you will be fine. I just got home from Miami today, was there for a week and all is fine in both of my tanks, Same thing in April as well everything was good. going away 2 more times this year and I'm not worried about it. Enjoy the vacation and drink it up.

Maybe the clam was just insecure and couldn't cope wiith you absence? Maybe it blamed itself for pushing you away, it's the clam that loved too much lol. That's what I tell myself when things die out of nowhere for seemingly no good reason :wink1:.
