I added a bottle of pods that I got for $18 a little over a month ago.

The tank lights just turned on and the glass is covered in snow, tiny little moving particles on all 4 sides of the glass.

I would be panicking but the anthias and fire fish are enjoying them.

I did not expect to be able to see pods with the naked eye without much effort.

I actually thought i got ripped of with the bottle I purchased and did not buy anymore because I could not see any pods in the bottle when I put it against the light.

Can pods really reproduce so quickly that there would be so many as to haze the glass?

After a further five moults, the copepod finally takes on the adult form. The entire process from hatching to adulthood can take anything from a week to a year, depending on the species.

That is from the life cycle of a copepod

Scrape them noooooooo.....They are selling this stuff at $35.00 a bottle.

I found a guy on Ebay that sold it to me for less than $20 so I took a chance.

I did not expect them to grow so big, some are like fine sand grains.

Yes those are pods I have them on my glass as well you can just wipe them off if you want

There is a Mandarin in there, not sure he is much of a predator lol, he eat's all sorts of frozen foods.

Feels kind of good to buy a bottle of clear water and not get ripped off...there were pods in there after all.

I have several sandsifting gobies, the anthias and the mandarin so they can turn the glass snow white if they want to.

Just wanted to be sure that over night I did not have some strange crap affecting the tank.

Over the past 3 months I've pulled out a few asterina, a couple of those harmless flatworms forget the name and killed 2 aptasia with lemon juice injections. The lemon juice works well but I wont hesistate to kill the rock if I see an outbreak.

I know the aptasia came from a guy in Belleville that gave me 2 frags, the asterina from the worms from Corals I purchased but these microscopic things would have baffled me.

here are some on my glass right now..... You will see that there are some larger and some smaller. You will really only see them on the glass when there is algae on the glass... I don't mind some algae on the glass for this reason. I clean the glass well when we have company coming over!

Look like basement bugs lol big suckers.

I have a fuge and I dont have a fuge. I chose to not add sand in the 40g sump I made. The pods have a fighting chance I gueess. I have macro and 30 to 40 pounds of live rock in the sump and 20 mangroves but no sand, I planted the mangroves in large gravel.

here you can see the 3 pods in relation to the size of the macro. These are not even the big ones!!!
