Starting to sound like some sort of haiku... (sp?)

we all can form a opinion, thats all it will ever be though
Seems to me you came here asking for opinions - just because you didn't like what you got, don't pout.
I like what I do as do the customers so far (who matter)
Of course customers matter, but so do the animals we are selling. Personally I look for a balance - enough sales to keep the place running but I also need to be able to look myself in the mirror.
We are new to business, but know alot about passion for the hobby, due to years of it
Well, I don't think any of us got into this business for our good health. Most if not all of us were and are hobbyists so I don't think you've one-upped us in that department. I've got 20 years into the hobby and 5 into the business. Which brings me to the business part. Most of us posting here and offering you answers to the questions you ask, HAVE been in the business for years. Consider that our advice may just be coming from that experience, and just maybe we're actually tryng to be helpful.
We are not trying to close your brick and mortar store
Good thing because we'll be around long after many more dot-coms have failed. I can't keep track of the amount of dot-com sites that have come and gone just in the last few years. At least we LFS only have to compete with one another locally for walk-in customers, and the small percentage (it is a VERY small percentage of hobbyists that shop online) who surf the net. Internet players have to compete on a global scale - it's just as easy to surf to a website on one coast as the other, so then it becomes all about price - the lowball is the winner (or is he?).
We did not even know it existed
What? You've never seen a LFS? You mean you were inspired to get into this hobby by the Internet? Sorry if I have a teensy bit of a hard time buying that one.
just as you did not know us
Oh we know all about "you". I think that's what disgusts us so.
there is already enough comp just on ebay
Right - refer to my comments above about it becoming all about the lowball. People are already out there pimping stuff below cost.. soon the whole system will drive itself out of business. No eBay and such isn't going away but there has to be a point where it's not worth the listing for the meager profit margin IF the item sells.
and we have as much right to our greenhouse as you do your store
God Bless America. As long as it's all being done legally, and ethically, that is.
What's your zoning again?
