Dizzy,
We are an import company.we do mostly wholesale and reatail. We used to do alot of etail but not much any more. Our website is very old, as we do not concentrate on it any more. We have 3000 sq feet of retail space with aprox 7000 gallons of water. We are looking at purchasing a larger building in the very near future. Canada has 2 basic taxes PST (Provincial sales tax) and GST (goods and services tax). If you sell in your own province, the customer must pay both taxes. If you sell out of province the customer only pays the GST. hope this helps clear up any questions you may have.

Let me know what luck you have. I will be going to Cuba shortly after I return from the Middle East.

The helms bill is only for Americans. When Castro took oner in 1959 most Cubans were not Americans. Your SOL . As to Fish from Cuba i have several prices lists from there. The prices are higher than I charge from Miami. I have a collection station in Haiti (live rock ricordea) and the Dominiccan Republic.

Sounds to me like the day needs to come when internet sales are subject to the same taxes as regular retail, both in our country and yours.
Mitch
I'm from Canada too. Everytime I buy over the Internet, I get charged the appropriate taxes (both by US and Canadian companies). Companies (in Canada anyway) are required by law to do this. If an Internet company doesn't charge the taxes, they are breaking the law and could be prosecuted if identified.

just because the taxes don't get charged, doesn't mean they're not being paid-some companies pay the tax for the cust, in return for the convenience of the biz increase from the internet ;)

I think in Canada that you can't do this. The store can pay the taxes (this is a common strategy for a store having a sale) but the taxes still have to be shown on the bill/invoice for accounting reasons.

I agree. But, they will continue to be owned by the Cuban people.

I did not realize I was in a political forum.

Being a Cuban American that does not share most of the viewpoints my fellow Cuban American's share, I still have to say that the Cuban people do not own anything, rather, they are owned.

Alfred
