Source to take Styrofoam Coolers

Over the years we have held onto the coolers. We now have way more then will we use with a steady supply of them always coming in with new shipments.

Anybody have any ideas of some common local sources I can try to take these coolers? I hate to just throw them away..

Apparently recycling places around here will not take them

Contact your local fishing bait wholesalers they used to come to my store and pick them up when ever I called.

Local Fish clubs may also be a place that can reuse them.

We send a customer home with one every chance we get. The local freshwater wholesalers always seem to need them too.

Heh I send them home with people too. I can't bring myself to throw them away unless they are broken. Somebody told me of a recycling place here someplace but I never investigated it. I don't throw many away.

Problem is, some customers actually bring the boxes back!!! :lol: :roll:

They work great for packing fragile stuff for moving.

Just so everyone knows, they make good cat condos. 8)

They make great shelters for stray/feral cats. Wrapped in 2" thick bubble wrap and 6 mil black plastic and filled 1/4 with straw, they make warm shelters. Contact local Humane Society for info on feral/stray cat rescue groups or any groups using Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program for cats. Could also contact Alley Cat Allies at www.alletcat.org for that same information. Wouldn't take much time to get that information and I'm sure they would really appreciate the donation. (I get mine from a fish store here in Utah.)
