Wow,
They associate anyone with compressor to the use of illegal fishing
.
Where on earth does hookah diving equate with cyanide use?
There are plenty of hookah using net collecting divers in Zambales.
How can the NPAs there not know this? What are they, the new knee-jerk Greenies now?
The NPA joins the illustrious ranks of the Tonga fishery department in banning the wrong thing on account of misunderstanding the issue.
They seem to care enough to do something, but not enough to learn anything.
Some want to ban Hookah as it is seen as dangerous. Someone cares enough to wants to protect divers and and yet not enough to let them feed their families.
Hookah , the gear of choice for the Australian, Mexican, Indonesian and Philippine army of collectors is often maligned out of ignorance by new folks who just read something wrong and acted on it.
Hookah, like scuba can put you at depth.
Working at depth without training is dangerous ...you know, like driving.
In the same reasoning we would ban driving or have ...oh I don't know....
drivers training and liscensing?
So, ignorant of the benefits of training divers or requiring training, lets just put em outta work? Now that hurts the divers so how is it for their benefit ?
While on a campaign to stop all untrained dangerous activity, why stop at diving?
Lets include skiing, football, rugby,
skydiving, keeping lionfish in an aquarium and needlepoint knitting.
[Not to mention walking around the bush with guns in front of armed teenagers too young to exercise good judgement]
