I recently changed from regular flourescent lighting to compact pc lighting for my fish and soft coral tank. The button polyps, which had always done fine, have been closed since a few days after changing the lighting. Everything else seems to have done better. Any ideas? Thanks

I just bought a compact fluorescent fixture. It came with a 55 watt GE 9325k bulb, and I also bought a 55 watt 50/50 (10000k and Actinic blue) Coralife bulb. There's obviously a difference in appearance, but is there any nutritional/health difference? Also, would you keep the light on about...

They just wrote back and answered a few of my other questions as well as this reply regarding the dust: "The UV light reacts wit the reflector causing it to oxidize. We have actually stopped using the reflectors inside the units. This is not a danger. The dust can be blown or wiped out. "...

What would you recommend for the Fluval 404, used on a reef and fish tank...live rock, live sand, UV sterilizer, soft corals only? What has been in there is two levels (the first four compartments from bottom up) of Chemi Pure carbon, then two levels of noodles in the top four compartments...

Wow...it did register with me that its probably not the best stuff to be playing with or cleaning out, whatever it is. It's very powder-like, fine...and as a result, of course, difficult to gather without becoming airborne to some degree. I don't recall whether there is a white liner inside...

Maybe, but water conditions are excellent and no other problems with anything whatsoever. And what happened was I was trying to move it and when I thought I was pulling the tube, it turned out I had the worm...it had been a little extended out of the tube, but then I pulled it all the way out.

I guess it didn't like where the tube was, lodged between some rock. So, it's out. Should I do anything? There is a tang, a flame angel, blue devil damsel and a few other fish, shrimp, algae critters, lots of live rock and soft corals in the tank.
