Have not been on this site for years but thought time to revisit. Started with a 75 for 3 yrs and now a 210 for almost 4 years. Many fish are 5 years or older.

Will a glass cover be on the tank? that may make a big difference. I think with metal halides chances are good that a chiller will be needed. Don't know much about the T5 but heard the bulbs are expensive

about 3 weeks ago and lowered the time and then a week later gradually increased. I had looked into that and heard it could be source. Increased water changes also, What concerns me is less purple coraline algae and more of this broun/rust colored stuff on rocks?

Thanks, I will do this, Actinics are about 2 years old, metal halides rather new. No new change in water flow, It is so suprising after 2 years without a problem.

At the risk of sounding simplistic i know all the parameters are fine, pH about 8.0, phosphates 0, all fine. I have a guy who helps take care of the tank and all numbers are right on target- i have a phospate reactor, protein skimmer, refugium, ca reactor. It is gross, please help.

Those little mutant white starfish are multiplying like crazy in my tank- all of a sudden hundreds on the sand, rocks and glass. I have had before but all of a sudden out of control. I have a 210 tank - purchased 2 harlequin shrimp , anything else to do? are 2 enough if there are so many? thanks

no way to remove by hand , just too many, maybe will try the harlequin shrimp, I do think these things are eating coraline, maybe some polyps but there a lots.
