Bryopsis I got rid of it!
It's the kalk that does it. kalkwasser precipitates out phosphates. addition of the vinegar dampens the pH spike from the kalkwasser

feeding flake can cause red algae problem?
Flakes have trace amounts of phosphate which could lead to more cyano.

are you sure it isn't just a 125watt equivalent light? That would make more sense with your lumen rating. That would be like a 27watt PC.

Southdown in SF bay area?
Can you give us some more info about Stone Associates? Can he get southdown or the equivalent? Do you know how much? I just hate to call him up if I am not prepared to pay what he is normally asking for the sand.
