Wow this is a really old thread. I dont even post here anymore.
Well what the heck Im here now. I have a Bi-color and a Flame in my 65 with no problems at all. Some of it depends on what else you have in the tank I believe. I even considered adding a third and going with a coral beauty. It...
Hmmm
I dont want to sound mean, but I belive some are confusing "air" with 02.
They are not the same thing. Air is mostly comprised of other gases to the tune of 79%.
Of course you want 1/3 water and 2/3s "air".
What we were talking about was adding medical grade purified oxygen directly...
When I see pics of skimmers the skimmate looks nothing like what I get in mine. I see brown or very light colored "tea" or even "mt dew" colored skimmate.
Im told you cant really judge anything by the color of the skimmate or the amount of it.
However, my prism pro pulls out dark green pure...
Atmospheric "air" is 21% oxygen.
The air that an average person exhales is %16 oxygen.
I would not recommend shipping with 100% purified 02, but if you had some way to enrich the O2 content up to say 40% I would think that might be a good thing.
Doubt anyone does this though.
I do have a great deal of anerobic pockets beneath my 4 inch DSB in the form of a 2 inch layer of crushed coral.
So far so good.
I dont think Ill ever experience such a crash though because over time the argonite will seep down and "seed" the pockets...which means instead of possible large...
"Thats a common misconception. Clowns are no funnier than any other fish."
"Welcome to the EAC. I will be your jump leader. Today is a good day for an exit. Please follow these procedure closely and everything will be ok. Rember to keep your fins tucked in neatly and roll."
Although I...
I didnt know this. My fluval return is very near the surface and at a 90degree angle to a Maxijet 1200. This cause a great deal of surface agitation and lots of bubbles in the tank. i dont notice the noise/ugly look of it because it is on a timer from 6P to 12A is shut off.
I always assumed...
Agreed.
I dropped a piece of spurila (spelling?) algae tablet in my tank which the Tang missed and the Marine Beta ate whole....he then swam to the back of the rocks and spit it out. My Scarlet crab grabbed it up and went down a whole with it....didnt see him for a day after that.
Breathing water will do that to ya.
Hey maybe he thought he was at the local doctors office and his "chicklets" were his girlfriends.
Or...maybe he thought you were the vet and he had chickens.
Maybe he thought his wife had bought their chickens at your shop?
Maybe in africa they...
I think in certain situations the perogative to lean back a little ball up a tight fist and knock day light out of a person is totally justified and should be legal.

"Well anyway i guess...
My flame and yellow tail damsels wont have anything to do with my scarlet cleaner shrimp....and the poor guy is always trying.
He will rarely clean the marine beta.
I have also witnessed my neon goby cleaning the marine beta.
Usually the other fish "nip" at the cleaner to get him to leave...
One 65G FOWLR
One 10 Gallon QT tank that doubles as a mixing/heating/aging container for my water changes.
Planning a 125 Gallon Reef in a year or so and Ill probably get a 20 Gallon 2nd Quarantine/mixing tank then also.
Aomthing like that should be put in a pamplet and REQUIRED BY LAW to be given or available to customers in all lfs. Along with a bit more detail on references to read and a general FAQ.
I like all of your ideas.
My favorite thing so far has been to place this "in wall" setup in a special "fish room". Make it so as its viewable from an adjcent room (such as a kitchen or better yet the main living area also).
Decorate your fish room with a nice leather recliner, reading lamp...
I have high blood pressure.
I needed a second hobby to the computer.
We have a 2 year old that will grow up more educated on the life which occupies the majority of this planet.
It looks good in the living room.
We had a spot that needed somthing in it.
It is relaxing to watch and doubles...
